Our four Mother’s Choice Ambassadors work together to promote the rights of children in Hong Kong and to pursue the Mother’s Choice vision to see every child in a loving family.

  • Mrs. Purviz Rusy Shroff, Patron

    Mrs. Purviz Rusy Shroff is Permanent Managing Director of Ruttonjee Estates Continuation Limited. She is also Vice-Chair of The Hong Kong Tuberculosis, Chest and Heart Diseases Association (formerly known as “The Hong Kong Anti-Tuberculosis Association”) which was co-founded by the late Mr. Jehangir H. Ruttonjee, CBE, JP in 1948. Mrs. Shroff was President of The Hong Kong Indian Women’s Club (HKIWC) from 1999 to 2002, and is still an active member of the Club. Since 1987, Mrs. Purviz Shroff has cared for more than 2000 babies and seen hundreds of children from Mother’s Choice find loving, permanent homes.

    Mother’s Choice is a Land of Angels where Love, Hope and Strength reside, I am incredibly honored to be appointed as the Patron of Mother’s Choice, and I look forward to seeing more children grow up healthily, and seeing more families built through the gift of adoption. Mrs. Purviz Shroff

  • Dr. Rosanna Wong, DBE, JP, Vice Patron

    Dr. Rosanna Wong is the Senior Adviser of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, where she has served since 1980. As a social administrator, she has had a distinguished record of public service and had served in both the Legislative and Executive Councils. She also served as Chairperson of, among others, the Education Commission, the Housing Authority, the Commission on Youth and the Social Welfare Advisory Committee. Currently, she is a Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the Commission on Poverty of the Government of the HKSAR, and the Chairperson of World Vision Hong Kong. Dr. Wong received her PhD from the University of California, Davis and has also received numerous awards, including being named one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons in Hong Kong, a Global Leader for Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum, and the Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. Dr. Wong has been a Mother’s Choice ambassador for over two decades. An active advisor and inspiration to the Mother’s Choice community, she champions the protection of children’s rights and works to improve the lives of those being raised in institutional care.

    Mother’s Choice is an organization that believes in love through service and this is something that touches my heart deeply. I am proud of my long association with Mother’s Choice and will continue to do my utmost in supporting their connections with policy officials in finding our shared and common mission to best serve the needs of children in Hong Kong.   • Ms. Cass Phang, Celebrity Ambassador

    Ms. Cass Phang is a renowned singer who has released 33 albums since her debut album in 1990. She has received over 40 music awards, including some of the most prestigious local awards such as "The Most Popular Female Singer" by TVB, "Ultimate Best Female Singer" by Commercial Radio, and "The Best Selling Singer of The Year" by RTHK. In 2002, Ms. Phang played the role of Teresa Tang in the sold-out musical "Forever Teresa Teng", and she released her last album in the same year before becoming less involved in the entertainment industry to focus on building her own family. After ten years, she made an exception for close-friend Wyman Wong and made her latest public appearance as a guest singer at his "Concert YY" in 2012. Ms. Phang is married to radio program host and singer-song-writer Jan Lamb, who has also hosted numerous stand-up comedy shows. The couple have two daughters. Cass first got involved with Mother’s Choice by volunteering her time in the Mother’s Choice Child Care Home, singing for and playing with children with special needs.

    At first it was just me singing alone, but the kids soon joined me in singing and dancing, and now I just don’t want to leave the room. Mother’s Choice fights for each child to join a forever family. As the Celebrity Ambassador, I wish to help Mother’s Choice raise awareness for children with special needs awaiting forever families.   • Ms. Kit Ying Chan, Community Ambassador

    Kit Ying Chan, a passionate advocate for the welfare of children, currently holds the position of Community Ambassador at Mother's Choice since October 2022. She played a pioneering role in the organization, starting as its first local volunteer in 1987, and eventually becoming its first staff member in 1988 after receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Guelph. Throughout her impressive career spanning over 35 years, Kit Ying has been unwavering in her commitment to supporting vulnerable children and young girls facing or at risk of facing crisis pregnancy in both Hong Kong and mainland China. She embarked on a mission to address the crisis of widespread baby abandonment in China's state orphanages and founded the groundbreaking "Guangxi-Hong Kong Mother's Love Orphanage", which was a joint venture between Civil Affairs Bureau of Guangxi and Mother’s Choice, in Nanning, 1995. Her book, Hidden Treasures: A Letter to the Children of Mother’s Love, offered a telescopic and powerful true story of this unique journey. Kit Ying continued in the capacity of Director of Services overseeing children, youth, and family services after returning Hong Kong in 2011, leading her team in providing life-transforming services, before retiring from being the Director of Community Services in September 2022, where she focused on encompassing Community Education and Volunteer Engagement. Embarking on a new season and adventure, Kit Ying now resides in one of Hong Kong's most vulnerable neighborhoods, further deepening her love and commitment to this city as she brings her vision of community hubs to life.
