This November, Mother’s Choice celebrates Adoption Awareness Month because we believe that every child deserves a family, and that love, not just blood, defines family. We also know that every family needs community support as they walk along the lifelong journey of parenting – and you are part of a very special community.
Our activities this month include a pitched media feature story about the importance of adoption friendly work places (stay tuned!); kick-started a research project with The Education University of HK on the experiences of Chinese adoptive families in HK; and, the recent launch of the book “Hidden Treasures”, a memoir on the impact and influence that Mother’s Choice has had on international adoption in China.
In addition, we are launching our first-ever Adoption Services Appeal to fund the critical work of our Adoption Services department. With no funding from grants or the government, this service relies entirely on individual donations. During this challenging time in Hong Kong, our work with vulnerable girls and children is needed more than ever, however, the fundraising for our work has been directly impacted. All donations made this month will directly benefit Adoption Services and our goal is to raise HK$1 million by the end of November. Every dollar counts so if you want to give, please click here.
